In all of the years we have been coming to Chiang Mai we had not experience rain until this trip. It rained twice, and the first time was such a shock to us that I shapped some photos through the window of our hotel room. The good thing about the rain was that it cleaned up the color of the sky. Before the rain, the view outside of our window was a rather pake, washed out blue. After the rain, the skies were as blue as one could hope for. I guess particles of sand etc. must float up in the air during the cold, rainless season. The rain probably settles the dust down and allows the sky to be as vivid as can be. The second picture is a panorama that I made using five separate photos. The different automatic settings on each picture caused the differences in colors.
