Changes to the big spirit house in the Chiang Mai Plaza parking lot.
Fountain and garden that was added in the area right of the main entrance and behind the big spirit house.
Desk set up by the door but no one ever used it.
Fountain that used to be in a corner of the lobby has now been moved to the center of one half of the lobby.
One of two Christmas trees they set up for this year.
A smoking room they set up on one side of the lobby. It has windows that are constantly open as well as a fountain with a waterfall..
.Store that changed hands since last year. I think it was a clothing store, but now it's a branch of an antique store.
.New sign on the side of the sidewalk for a new hotel that they squeezed into the area next to the Chiang Mai Plaza. I don't know if there was anything there before. The entrance to the new hotel is about as far from the street as the Plaza's is. It's right next to the pretty restaurant that's upstairs where you have to take your shoes off.
.Ad for the opening of the Shangrila Hotel. Last year we saw the wall around the construction and signs advertising it.
.Remember the cell phone place in the grass? Well, at the corner closest to the Plaza Hotel a lady has set up a sewing machine to do hems and alterations.
This used to be where the people would stand in the field talking on the cell phones. Well, the place is gone now. It's partially a field and partially a parking lot..
The construction site for the Shangrila Hotel. Photos were not allowed..
.The corner by McDonald's is now a raised platform where they have shows during festials and the rest of the time vendors set up on it.
.The road across from the Plaza Hotel now goes all the way through to the road that the German restaurant is on. It's so much more convenient now.
Can you believe they now have city buses plying their way on the streets?
.Remember the pizza place and the ice cream place on Chang Klan? They closed after the floods in August and October and haven't reopened yet. Burger King was there, too. The pizza place and the ice cream parlor that are up the stairs are still in business./b>
.This year's decorations on the moat.
The flower market expanded. They took over the curb on the river side across the street and set up tents which are now filled with flower vendors. They don't sell arrangements, just the cut flowers.
.During the floods in August and October most of the places
D.o you remember the gas station at the intersection of the street the Plaza was on and the street of the night market? Well, this year, behind the gas station, they set up a night market
