Michael donated his tigers when they grew too big to be kept on his Neverland Ranch, but he declined to donate any food, or money to buy food thereby getting a tax deduction for unloading his no longer wanted tigers and transferring the problem of feeding them to someone else . Tigers eat many pounds of meat per day, and at Tiger Creek that money comes from donations and the fees that are charged visitors to enter and visit the animals.
Every day more tigers are found to be unwanted and yet sanctuaries such as these cannot continue to take in more than they can afford to feed. It is so sad to think that these animals are an endangered species and that taking them back to their natural environment would require transportation that would be too expensive for average people to pay as well as exposing them to poachers who would kill them for their fur.
