MOODY GARDENS

Moody Gardens Moody Gardens (46 images)
The Shern Moody Gardens is a charity run organization in Galveston, TX. They foster the use of animals as therapy for handicapped children, and the income from their public areas is used for it.

The complex first opened in late 1992 with the main building and one pyramid housing a rainforest. JFK Jr. was present at the grand opening.

A glass table at the entrance in the main building had a very ambitious plan for the near future. It seemed too elaborate to be able to do, but Moody Gardens has stuck to their building plan.

Today among the gardens there are three pyramids, each housing a special attraction, a large hotel, a convention center, a white sand beach, a paddle wheeler boat and of course, the main building which houses a sit down restaurant, a snack bar and an IMAX 3d movie venue.
