Tivoli Gardens (55 images)
In 1843, 20 acres not too far from city hall in Copenhagen was set aside as a special park, one where the inhabitants of the city could go to relax and enjoy themselves. Oddly enough, those 20 acres in the heart of the downtown area of Copenhagen are still the home of that park called Tivoli Gardens.

It is said that a visitor cannot truly say he has been to Copenhagen until he spends some time at Tivoli Gardens, and so it is that at the end of the long walk we took, we made our final stop at an amusement park.

Today, the park is home to several outdoor theaters, over 40 restaurants and hundreds of shops and attractions.
