Old Town (43 images)
One evening in Stockholm we went to the Gamla Stan, the Old Town, located at the point where Lake Malaren meets the Baltic Sea. It is where Stockholm was born more than seven centuries ago, and some of the city walls there date from the 13th century. It is in the Old Town that the official royal palace is located, and parts of it are open to the public, but because of our lack of time, we were unable to visit the interior. We did, however, see the Changing of the Guard at the Palace.
