The ship offers staterooms as well as food and entertainment while it wends its way along the fjords that form the coast of Norway. Our tour chose the cruise to give us an idea of the Norwegian fjords from the water because when we exited the ship, we would be driving along the edges of other fjords.
The guide books say that the fjords farther south are more dramatic, but it's impossible to imagine anything as impressive as the sheer quantity of the fjords in the north.
On board the ship there is a wonderful viewing room at the top that we took advantage of as we marvelled at the beauty of Norway.
After the cruise, we drove through the fjords, and the next day we had another short cruise to cross the fjord.
The following photos are a combination of pictures taken on the cruise, the ferry and in the bus as we drove through the fjords. Enlarging the photos will alow you to see the details, especially the panoramic shots. It was one time when I really appreciated my camera's having the ability to shoot as a panorama.
