MOSJOEN AND THE LAKSFORSEN WATERFALL (22 images)
We drove along the highway in Norway amazed at the beauty of the countryside. Among the unusual things we saw were some large white balls that looked exactly like huge snowballs. Our guide informed us that they were hay wrapped in white plastic, the Norwegian way of doing it.

Our first stop was in Mosjoen to see the ancient octagonal church. After that we visited the Laksforsen Waterfall which was absolutely gorgeous from the highway up above, but unfortunately I didn't know the view was coming and my camera wasn't ready. The view by the falls, although lovely, is nowhere near the one from the highway.

Another farming oddity that we learned about were the ramps attached to the barns. It seems the farmers store hay on the top level of the barn as a type of insulation to keep the lower level where the animals are warm. In order to facilitate the job of filling the top of the barn, ramps capable of supporting tractors are built alongside the barn.
