A LONG WALK DOWN NANNERHEIM ROAD (37 images)
Because we had two stays in Helsinki, we stayed in two different hotels. On our first visit, we stayed in a Radisson Hotel in Espoo, a suburb of the city. That hotel, located on the water, was a perfect place for a quiet getaway, and we enjoyed our evening there, but the second hotel we stayed in was the Radisson Hesperia in downtown Helsinki. The Hesperia hotel was, in my opinion, the best one we stayed in on the entire trip and we were happy that we were staying extra days there. Not only was the Hesperia a large, luxury hotel with comfortable, air conditioned rooms, but it had an unbeatable location. Just a block from the back of the hotel were a couple of local restaurants with delicious food at reasonable prices, and directly in front of the hotel was the main street of Helsinki with a trolley that stopped only half a block away.

Between our hotel and the harbor were several important places in Helsinki: Finlandia Hall, the Parliament Building, the National History Museum, the City of Helsinki Museum, the major department stores and some of the designer shops of the city. We decided to talk a walk so we could view those places close up.
