Sunset on the River
We took a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and it seemed so incredible to be drinking on the Zambezi as if I were in an Agatha Christi novel. It was a lot of fun because we went looking for animals. We saw a few in the distance, but the most exciting thing was to see a family of hippos in the water. At first we saw only eye balls above the water, but while we waited, one of the pachyderms raised his/her head up and yawned broadly. It was thrilling to see. We also saw the mist from Victoria Falls ahead of us since the Zambezi is the river that tumbles over the precipice to create the famous waterfall. I wondered what would happen if the motor on the boat gave out. Would the boat end up going over the edge? But where we were on the river it was calm. You would never know that danger was ahead if you were the first ones on the river. After riding around for a while, we watched as the sun began to drop to the horizon, and we marvelled at the sunset.
