eZulwini Valley (43 images)

On the way to Pigg's Peak where we would stop for the night, we drove through the eZulwini Valley, a very popular tourism site for South Africans. Since it was lunch time, we pulled into a hotel for lunch.

At the rear of the hotel, their gift shop was called the African Queen. It had some beautiful merchandise there including a beaded head that I wish I had bought. They also sold some bags that were quite unusual. I believe they were made with plastic bags.

After a stop at the hotel, we drove down to a very large market along the highway. Walking through the area showed us that anything African was for sale.

Someone had suggested that we collect the soaps and shampoos that we hadn't used in the hotel bathrooms to give to the poor people selling in the market. I gave my bagful which included some Jolly Rancher lollipops to one of the ladies selling in the market. When I walked past her a little later, she was eating an apple candy and smiling broadly.
