WARSAW (38 images)
The capital of Poland is a large, vibrant city. This is the third time we've been there, and it really seems to be more alive and vibrant now than ever before.

The tall, rather attractive building that we have seen on every trip was, of course, still there. Since it is a symbol of Soviet oppression, the people hate the building. A joke says the best view in Warsaw is from the top of what is called the Stalin Wedding Cake because you can't see the tower itself.

We had the best meal on the trip at a Polish restaurant I had read reviews of. Can you imagine having veal pierogis for an appetizor and plum pierogis for a dessert? It was pure heaven!

And on the way home we met some very friendly, handsome Polish guys who insisted on modeling for me. Thanks guys!

Finally, I have to tell you about our bathroom. After checking into the hotel, I decided to use the bathroom. I went in, closed the door and almost went into shock. There was no toilet! It was the strangest feeling ever. Well, I went back into the bedroom and searched. There was a closed door next to the bathroom that I had assumed was a closet. I opened it, and lo and behold, it was a private throne room! That was a first.
