Dulcita, called Dulcie, was born in San Antonio, TX, in October of 1968, and she passed away in May of 1986 after a heart attack. She was a wonderful pet, and a great companion. She was a traveller, too, since she went to Mexico with me and lived there. She also lived in Illinois with my parents for a few months. Then she came to Houston with us. She was always happy with the home we provided, and Carlos was the only person (other than my parents) that she ever formed an attachment to beside me. She was a very brave cat who feared no other animal and usually challenged them when acosted. She walked on a leash and I would take her out for long walks in Mexico City where one time, unbeknownst to me, a newspaper photographer took a photo of her with me at an art fair in Mexico City. What a surprise a few weeks later when reading the Sunday Excelsior, Mexico City's largest newspaper, we found the photo in the magazine section. Dulcie loved to eat, and she, like her mistress, had a weight problem. From her first night with me, she slept at the foot of the bed.

Astarte, called Star, was born in San Antonio in August of 1980 and passed away in September of 1993 after surgery to remove a malignant tumor that had grown back only three months after the first surgery. She was a happy, cheerful, playful and intelligent cat. She was also afraid of anything that she was unfamiliar with. Star never weighed more than six pounds and kept her youthful figute until she died. She never searched for food unless it was mealtime, and then she never overate. She NEVER begged at the table unlike Dulcie. Star was a lap sitter, and she chose to sleep on the pillow next to my head. When she picked her place, Dulcie became jealous and moved from the foot of the bed to sleep nestled in my armpit, so I was warmed by two loving kitties.
