It was raining when we docked in the bay at Puerto Chacabuco which is in what is called Upper Patagonia. Rain is nothing new there since it rains every day of the year, but by the time we left after a trip to the Rio Simpson National Park and the town of Aisen the sun had come out. The port is too shallow for the ship to dock at the pier so we were tendered to the shore. Near the port we saw a building of several stories which we were told was a hotel.
