We stopped at the Plaza Mayor and visited the Cathedral of Our Lady of Refuge. In the plaza I came across a sweet little girl with her father and brother. She enjoyed posing for a few photos. Chairs were set up in front of a temporary stage for a weekend show. In the Cathedral there was an interesting side altar with three images of Jesus. One showed him on the cross; another scene had him in a glass coffin; and the last image had him risen from the dead. The church has a marble Pieta, a gift from Pope John Paul II. One of the side altars is in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe. An unusual confessional stands at the rear of the church.
