Corpus Christi (32 images)

The city of Corpus Christi lies on the bend in the curve of the Gulf Coast. It isn't a behemoth of a city like Houston, Dallas or San Antonio with a population of a little more than a quarter of a million, but it is a pretty city with a beautiful waterfront.

One of the nicest things about Corpus is the Shoreline Drive that follows the coast from one end of the city to the other. Along this scenic route one finds some of the loveliest homes in the city.

Another highlight of the city is a beach that is situated just across the bridge from downtown along with hotels and tourist souvenir shops. And at that beach the U.S.S. Lexington aircraft carrier is docked with a long pier allowing tourists on the beach to board the ship and tour it.

We stayed at a motel that has been on the beach for at least forty years because I know my cousin and I stayed there in the 1960s. I'm pleased to state that the hotel has been kept up in such a way that is is a high quality property today.

The downtown part of the city is on the shore of the Gulf with a pretty little marina and fishing pier on its shore.
