A Trip Around the World (32 images)
In November of 1973 we had a second, Civil, marriage ceremoney. The airport chief of TWA gifted Carlos with a standby ticket around the world. Since we had already taken our vacation for 1973, we hurriedly planned a trip for 1974. TWA was in the process of closing its offices in Asia, so we were among the last to travel their famed route. It felt sad as if we were rolling up the carpet behind us. We had four weeks (30 days) of vacation, and we planned it as follows: Cairo, Egypt for 6 nights; Athens, Greece for 2 nights; Tel Aviv, Israel for 2 nights; Bombay, India for 2 nights; New Delhi, India for 5 nights; Bangkok, Thailand for 3 nights; Hong Kong for 3 nights; and Florida (to visit my family) for 6 nights. The only changes we made were cutting one night from Tel Aviv, and 1 night from Hong Kong while adding an extra night in New Delhi and Bangkok. It was great traveling with standby tickets because we could change our schedule at a moment's notice, and in those pre regulation days the planes always had space. The main stops on the trip were Egypt and India because we figured those two spots were the most difficult to get to. And we thoroughly enjoyed them. Although we have no desire to return to Egypt, there was no way we could have known that we would be back to Thailand many, many times. All of the pictures were slides, so I had only a few made into photos. Someday I may add the rest of them and until then these are the best of the photos from our trip around the world.
