On the Ship (29 images)

The Norwegian Dream is one of the two smallest ships that the Norwegian Cruise Line has, and after september both the Dream and the Majesty, the other small ship, will be gone. The maximum number of passengers on the Dream is approximately 1,780. The newer ships have a capacity of more than 2,500. I don't know if we would like one of those larger ships as much as we enjoyed the Dream.

We were on the 8th of 12 decks and found it easy to get around to the spots we wanted to visit. NCL has a policy of freestyle cruising which means there is no specific dinner time, nor is each passenger asigned to a specific table. Instead NCL ships have a variety of restaurants and buffets so that one can eat at any time of the day or night.

There are two main dining rooms and two specialty restaurants that serve a sit down dinner as well as various buffet spots. Three of the sit down restaurants are on the 9th deck with the fourth one on the 11th deck. The eating places with buffets are on the 11th and 12th decks. The 10th deck houses the casino, the shopping gallery, a piano bar, a bar with a dance floor and the Stardust Lounge where live performances as well as lectures and some movies take place. The reception and shore excursion desks as well as the cashier were on the 7th deck.
